chimera – PRP mixtape 11 – February 2024

Since the Lunar New Year is tomorrow, I wanted to get this mixtape out first, as it represents the songs of my past couple months, and I will want to start a new one in the new lunar year. As always, this isn’t necessarily new music, although some of it may be. It’s just what I’ve been listening to recently. Let me know what you think. Subscribe to my page for more mixtapes, along with running and marathon stuff, cave diving, writing, quotes, and just bits of my personal journal. I can’t really have a proper blog because the stuff I share is all so unrelated to each other, so I just publish a window into my life, for anyone who wants to be a part of it. Welcome to my world. Stay a while.

A reminder that Spotify introduced a new feature in 2023 that allows listeners to exclude a playlist from their taste profile. It’s a great option for when you are listening to someone else’s stuff from their profile, or you have guests visiting, and you aren’t sure you want Spotify crafting playlists for you based upon their taste. If you want to explore my playlists and not have it affect your listening profile and song suggestions on Spotify, here’s how to use the handy “exclude from my taste profile” feature.

Get Back – Early 2000s HipHop Club – PRP Mixtape 10 – 202312

I made a playlist from the archives for today’s workout, from out of “nowhere.” There was nowhere and then there was now here. But all of it represents me in some way or another, and I own every bit of it and am thankful for it all because it is all part of how I got to be who I am. Plus, this music is fun for me sometimes and I get energy from it when I’m in the specific mood to receive that energy.

You might want to set your Spotify to not use this for your listening algorithm, because this one is completely different. Thankfully, you can do that. Spotify introduced a new feature in 2023 that allows listeners to exclude a playlist from their taste profile. It’s a great option for when you are listening to someone else’s stuff from their profile, or you have guests visiting, and you aren’t sure you want Spotify crafting playlists for you based upon their taste. If you want to explore my playlists and not have it affect your listening profile and song suggestions on Spotify, here’s how to use the handy “exclude from my taste profile” feature, and you probably should do that for this one if you like my other playlists. This one is for a certain kind of mood, which maybe you don’t ever have, but I do, sometimes, on rare occasions, and today was one of those times.

down in a hole – PRP Mixtape 8 – 202309

I think the first day of Autumn is the perfect day for me to finish this month’s mixtape, so I made some last minute changes and decisions and am calling it done. It’s a bit all over the map, in terms of genre, from rock to electro to goth (with a variety of subgenres), but all are, I think, within my normal range of darker sounds. (Don’t worry, no more of that Summer silliness, not for a while at least.) As always, most of it isn’t new music but some of it is. It’s just a musical journal of how I’ve felt during the past month of my life. Welcome to my world.

Avis’ new side project

My friend Avis has a new side project and it is freaking awesome (Trip Hop). It is available on iTunes. Saltillo on MySpace Saltillo web presence and, in case you didn’t know about the other one, here it is: Sunday Munich on MySpace Sunday Munich web presence It’s too bad Allegory didn’t continue on as well – that was something completely different, but I liked it a lot. I keep hoping he will change his mind and release the other songs.

Burn Lounge

I joined Burn Lounge today under the Mogul program (that is their term for their multi-level reseller program.)  They are brand new but they are gonna be huge, as they are adding more and more artists all the time and will soon be supporting Mac (currently the site only works under Internet Explorer – ugh – I know, sorry.)
YOU SHOULD JOIN TOO – UNDER ME !!!!!  If you are interested in opening your own store, or if you just want to join as a fan, or whatever.  They have several options available and it will be REALLY growing as time passes.  They are totally brand new right now – still in version 1.0
or,……… AT LEAST JUST MAKE YOUR ONLINE MUSIC PURCHASES AT MY BURN LOUNGE STORE – they have a LOT of music there already, at 99 cents a song – same as iTunes – except unlike other online music stores I will be able to get a few cents from each song purchased from my store.  Since I am rolling change to buy groceries, I figure I will take all the few cents I can get. Actually, there is a TON of potential here – especially with it in the early stages right now. As their catalog increases, the potential will also increase. If you are interested in the shared compensation (Mogul) program, you can view the documentation at: http://reg.burnlounge.com/docs/docs_comp.pdf
Go to my Burn Lounge store at:  http://www.burnlounge.com/pina and join via that page to become a part of my team of Moguls, fans, or just buy all your online song purchases there.  I just now joined so my page is not yet fully populated with all my favs but the entire Burn Lounge catalog is available if you use the search – I have not filtered any content off.
You will notice that some categories are already beginning to be populated with my featured selections and others still have the default selections as features, but as time goes on I will be providing links to more and more cool selections on there to make browsing for cool music easier.  I was going to wait until I had a more thorough representation of my awesome taste in music on the site to post this but then realized that it is sometimes nice to give people something to look forward to 🙂
p.s.  Oh, and tell all your friends to go to http://www.burnlounge.com/pina too!  If you join as a reseller under me, they can even join under you and you will get your share 🙂
