“if you want to escape from your cage, you must die while you are alive.”
Month: February 2008
outside myself
Outside myself, looking in,
Captured….aware….. tested….
Reflection spills my inner poisons;
This is my greatest challenge.
A moment, a turnstile, a crossroads, a lesson,
The alarm clock rings and vanishes like time
Remember this one; it matters.
Harness the strength
From the guiding wind
It blows strong and purposeful
Intending support
In full faith
Breathe and jump
Imagine my wings and by this fly
And dance in the thrashing, turbulent time
Percussion, a pulse,
My thread of intent
A chord arpeggio building resolve.
A moment of tension-filled silence enthralls,
Reprise then guides me home.
Death lay still on the side of the highway
Scattered and staggered
From left to right and back again.
Stepping stones become mementos
And ghosts approvingly smile at
Scenes from a memory.
The tempo builds.
Impressionistic catastrophic mockery,
My game unwinds,
Excusing itself by
The love of the ride
Convincing me I am
Enjoying the drive.
I recursively integrate,
Descending to climb
Still falling,
Expect to rise.
