have a great weekend & happy Independance Day !

I shoulda been out of here like 2 hours ago, but I am on my way now. The only reason I am taking the time to post this is that I am waiting for my iPod to finish loading a few songs 😉 Going cave diving again – YAY!!!
This is gonna be a freaking amazingly wonderful, totally super cool and much needed _long_ weekend.

support dive – an awesome experience

This entry is backdated to when I wanted to write it. Support diving on Saturday was AWESOME. The team is doing some really amazing stuff this year, and it is so good to be a part of it. The exploration dive today was an amazing feat, great progress on an already very productive season, and a _very_ long day. I pulled two support shifts. One from 1 to 3 pm and one from 10pm – 12:30am. The early shift was to accompany the setup team at 20ft when they were on oxygen. The vis in the basin was less than 2 ft and I positioned myself on the log between the two divers, looking back and forth between them constantly to make sure they were ok and taking bottles as they became unneeded, then accompanying them all the way to the surface on their 1 ft per minute ascent from the log. Although it may seem like an insignificant task, I did not take it that way. The fact is that close attention during the in-water oxygen decompression is a very important part of keeping these extended exposures safe. All went very well.

During the second shift I went in with another team member to meet and greet the two exploration divers during their deco. When we got to them they were at 60 ft on the ceiling and all was good. We stayed with them there in ethereal stillness as they did the remainder of their 60ft time, then moved forward with them up to 50ft, taking their Magnum scooters from them and extra bottles, then moved forward to the trough at 40ft where we helped them out of the rebreathers in into the trough, making sure they had their camelbacks for hydrating themselves. Then we proceeded to remove the rebreathers, scooters and bottles out through the restriction out of the cave and up to the surface. The act of doing this type of support is one of the best things a diver can do to perfect their skills, as managing a bunch of gear including a rebreather requires an element of skill otherwise unused in diving.

Having not done this in some time, once I got out of the restriction I took a moment at 40ft to evaluate personally how I would manage the rebreather on the ascent while holding onto the line and carefully navigating clear of the log above me with all of this gear. After going over mentally how I would accomplish it smoothly I proceeded to the surface, controlled and comfortable and happy I was able to do this. It was really good to be back.

Burn Lounge

I joined Burn Lounge today under the Mogul program (that is their term for their multi-level reseller program.)  They are brand new but they are gonna be huge, as they are adding more and more artists all the time and will soon be supporting Mac (currently the site only works under Internet Explorer – ugh – I know, sorry.)
YOU SHOULD JOIN TOO – UNDER ME !!!!!  If you are interested in opening your own store, or if you just want to join as a fan, or whatever.  They have several options available and it will be REALLY growing as time passes.  They are totally brand new right now – still in version 1.0
or,……… AT LEAST JUST MAKE YOUR ONLINE MUSIC PURCHASES AT MY BURN LOUNGE STORE – they have a LOT of music there already, at 99 cents a song – same as iTunes – except unlike other online music stores I will be able to get a few cents from each song purchased from my store.  Since I am rolling change to buy groceries, I figure I will take all the few cents I can get. Actually, there is a TON of potential here – especially with it in the early stages right now. As their catalog increases, the potential will also increase. If you are interested in the shared compensation (Mogul) program, you can view the documentation at: http://reg.burnlounge.com/docs/docs_comp.pdf
Go to my Burn Lounge store at:  http://www.burnlounge.com/pina and join via that page to become a part of my team of Moguls, fans, or just buy all your online song purchases there.  I just now joined so my page is not yet fully populated with all my favs but the entire Burn Lounge catalog is available if you use the search – I have not filtered any content off.
You will notice that some categories are already beginning to be populated with my featured selections and others still have the default selections as features, but as time goes on I will be providing links to more and more cool selections on there to make browsing for cool music easier.  I was going to wait until I had a more thorough representation of my awesome taste in music on the site to post this but then realized that it is sometimes nice to give people something to look forward to 🙂
p.s.  Oh, and tell all your friends to go to http://www.burnlounge.com/pina too!  If you join as a reseller under me, they can even join under you and you will get your share 🙂

water won’t kill fire

I was getting clothes out of the dryer a little while ago and found my black lighter in there. I had been wondering what happened to it. Anyway, so i figured I would try it, totally expecting it not to work, and it worked perfectly on the first try.

I guess when they said that my washing machine uses very little water they weren’t kidding. How the hell do my clothes get clean? Or, do lighters just continue to work all the time after running through the laundry? Weird.
